Abstract	The article is devoted to the analysis of the new mechanism of disciplinary liability set out in the Law of Ukraine “On Prosecutor’s Office”. The author pays attention to grounds for disciplinary liability, in particular to liability for violation of prosecutor’s ethics rules. This issue is becoming more and more urgent as for the last year the majority of the decisions of the Qualifications and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors have been made in cases on violation of professional ethics. The purpose of the article is to identify and consolidate the specific features of disciplinary liability of prosecutors for violation of prosecutor’s ethics. To reach the purpose of the article the author studies and analyzes: main requirements for professional ethics and conduct of a prosecutor; features of detection of violations of prosecutor’s ethics rules and response to such violations; general and special grounds for the disciplinary liability for violation of prosecutor’s ethics rules; challenges of practical interpretation of provisions of the Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct of Prosecutors. The study results in elaboration of the definition of the notion of serious violation of the prosecutor’s ethics rules, in identifying general and special grounds for the disciplinary liability of a prosecutor for violation of professional ethics, and in proposition to amend the current legislation to determine the powers of the Council of Prosecutors of Ukraine on official preventive interpretation of provisions of the Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct of Prosecutors.
